The AKA is the classic dry-conditions weapon, for predictable grip in hardpack and rocky terrain. The secret is in the repeating rows of small, tightly packed knobs. This configuration allows the rows of effective edges to work together, maximizing the surface area on hardpack terrain. The even profile provides a nice predictable brake point, and smooth cornering transitions.
