Replaced a grip shift

"Bought this to replace a grip shift on an older Rans recumbent with a 9 speed SRAM X9 derailleur. I've never been a fan of gripshift type shifters and this is much more quiet and smoot shifting. Easy enough to install though I couldn't use the new shift cable as it was way too short (recumbent bikes can be very long). I was able to reuse the old cable which is working fine."

Does the trick

"Got this trigger to go with a matching X5 rear mech. The trigger for the climbing to the low sprocket is well placed, but the trigger to climb down into the high sprocket is hard to reach for my smallish hands. Wish there was a design more similar to shimano's where you can pull/push the trigger to climb down to the high sprocket."
