Converted drops to flat bars

"Converted drops to flat bars so needed AXS shifters. These work great."

This is my first adventure

"This is my first adventure into the AXS setup. I wanted the controller to mimic the cable actuated shifter as much as possible. The setup is clean and very straightforward. I am happy with the feel of the clicks and how the controller integrated into the system. Cambria had a nice price so I took the plunge. Order turn around time was very quick."

Necessary but too expensive

"Minus two stars for being so expensive for a bluetooth switch and not just including more comfortable actuators since they can be purchased after market. But a switch is necessary if you love AXS like I do. SRAM you can do better with this component."

Kevin M. (3/5)

Good, but requires relearning shifter behavior to a degree.

"Overall the AXS system is great, but just a handful of rides so far. The shifter controller with the rocker paddle is good, not great though. It is close to the geometry of the mechanical shifter, but just far enough off that years of muscle memory don't always have my thumb in the right place. The shifter has a subtle click and a more noticeable click when you actuate the the paddle. I'd like the heavier click to align with shifting to a lower (larger) gear. But if I configure it that way, then it works opposite of a mechanical shifter position. Accepting that it isn't a mechanical shifter and jumping paradigms is probably the best course of action. But I'm a bit surprised that it was designed in such a way that feels foreign. Also worth noting, I run Shimano XT brakes. The new shifter barely fits under the brakes given the angle of dangle I run my brakes at. It's less adjustable in position than a mechanical SRAM shifter. Overall, I really like the AXS system and the shifting is insanely precise. But there are some headscratcher moments with regards to the design and feel of the shifter when transitioning from mechanical."
