Hi, My bike has a triple chain ring on the front and seven cogs on the rear chain ring. The small cog on the front has 28 teeth and biggest cog on the rear has 24 teeth. The front chain ring is worn so needs to be replaced. Is it possible to buy a front triple chain ring for the front with the small cog with less teeth and a rear chain ring that has the biggest cog with more teeth, in order to make hills easier to climb?
In his case with a Tourney crankset just the chainring can not be replaced and a new crankset would need to be purchased. This is because the chainrings are riveted to the crankset and not bolted. The crankset is available in an 42-34-24T configuration and the freewheel cassette is also available in a 14-34T option
