View full detailsThe Shimano Tiagra chain has 116 links and is compatible with all 10 speed road drive trains and features an asymmetrical design which makes the chain directional but also makes for far smoother shifting than a standard chain. Punched holes in the plates not only reduce the weight of the chain but result in less friction with the teeth of the chainrings.
Pushys tip: Make sure to carefully read the instructions - it does have a specific orientation and needs to be installed with the out plate facing out.

"There is not much to say about this as it is a chain. It looks like an Ultegra chain except that the outer links are not plated. Keep in mind that this chain includes an installation pin, so if you want to use a quick link, then purchase one separately or buy a different chain. I have much better reliability and length of service with Shimano chains than with other brands."

"This chain has smooth shifting and good durability, but is a bit heavy at 280 grams. Note that the solid outer plates with the Shimano logo must be installed facing you, with the slotted outer plates on the other side facing away from you. Good length for modern drivetrains at 116 links. But uses a pin, not a quick-link, to make the connection. Weight weenies can get a lighter SRAM 1031 for less, but shifting may be a bit rougher, though it does provide a quick-link."
