Description

Maxxis Rekon 29" Folding MTB Tire - EXO

The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tire that can be used for daily tours, can be shredded in the forest and at the AllMountain, but also handles side trips into the rough terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for driving without a tube with sealing milk, but like all TR tires can also be driven with a tube . We recommend the Rekon primarily on the rear wheel, which can best be combined with a 2.60 Forekaster at the front, but also with coarser profiles.

Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread layout and the shape of the tires on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and get too square a shape on wide rims and therefore not exactly optimal performance.
WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work perfectly on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

Tubeless ready (TR)
tube tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube , the risk of breakdown also decreases. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of the tire TR is like a real Tax tube losreifen complete with a layer of rubber coated. As a result, the tube free assembly is successful for all rims with standard dimensions as soon as they are inflated and with little liquid.
Even "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can be fitted with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very tight.
Only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.

Dual compound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the mixtures according to the desired properties of the tires.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very densely woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
