This Bike is a Blast!
"Fantastic bike after a couple of upgrades. I'm a bike nut and buying this bike was more about curiosity...so I thought. Straight bar gravel? That one seemed a bit fuzzy. I have a full stable of pricey bikes but I always wanted that perfect railtrail townie runabout. I prefer mountain biking but ride drop bars every now and then. All the mounts though a couple are missing on the top tube makes this a fine pack bike also. Fast and upright riding position. Razor sharp handling. I bit stiff and rigid. I have a large and I'm 6' tall. I switched the 70mm stem to a 80mm to see if I might want a little stretch. Nope, the 70mm is spot on. Out of the box the packing was almost amateurish which made me wonder about Cambria Bike. They should have done a better job. The tires looked liked they had been test rode and front wheel needed trueing badly. Big scratch on the left chainstay and nicks through the clear coat on the fork. The bike is hard to find in this size so I kept it. The bike is fine in stock form but to spice it up I changed the awful grips, added Stans 21mm tape, tubeless valves and tubeless tires. The bike is sweet! Marin has a great model but at this price point the non-locking grips and non-tubeless compatible tires were kind of disappointing. The crank is cheesy but functions. The heart of the bike is frame and geometry. The quality is a standout. I wish Marin had included a grommet kit should I want to replace the blank overs for dropper cable access. I had to order them from their site. I don't think I'll order another bike from Cambria because of the poor packing and inspection of my bike before shipping. That be said, get this bike if you want a great upright fast bike that should be fine for most surfaces except mountain bike trails for years to come."
