Jeff Steber, Founder & Creative Director, Intense Cycles
“The all-new SPIDER is a complete rethink from the ground up and defines what Modern Light Trail is all about. We’ve dialed in a new visual identity, re-engineered the suspension layout, refined the kinematics, and wrapped it all in a bold new graphic package. Bringing back the legendary SPIDER name isn’t just a nod to the past—it’s a statement. This bike is fast, aggressive and unapologetically INTENSE. I’m beyond stoked to launch it.”
The all-new Spider features updated carbon construction, modern geometry, and capable ride quality—engineered to deliver a confident, engaging experience on every trail. While the previous Spider was offered exclusively with 27.5” wheels, the new version rolls on full 29” wheels for improved speed and stability. However, the most significant upgrade lies in the completely redesigned suspension platform and refined kinematics, delivering a smoother, more responsive ride. You won’t want to miss the experience of riding this next-generation Spider.
Key Details:
Carbon Fit: The Spider’s carbon layup is tailored to each frame size, optimizing strength, weight, and compliance for riders of all sizes. This ensures every rider experiences the perfect balance of stiffness and responsiveness.

JS Tuned: Incredibly smooth performance on mixed terrain with excellent pedaling efficiency. Supportive while climbing and on flatter trails, yet bottomless as the terrain gets rougher.

Frame Protection: The frame has integrated front and rear triangle protection to keep the bike looking like new. It also has an integrated rear fender to keep the shock clear of dirt and muck.

Accessory Mount: The Spider has a designated storage mount on the bottom of the top tube to hold tools, air canisters, tire levers and more.
Threaded BB: The Spider features a threaded BB. The preferred choice for riders who handle their own bike maintenance. Less prone to creaking, and better for reliable long term performance.
Internal Cable Routing: Internally guided routing for the shifter, dropper post and rear brake ensures the Spider remains clean, organized, noise-free, and easy to maintain.

Frame Sizing & Geometry:
FAQs
What is the maximum rear tire size that will fit the Spider?
Tire dimensions can vary between manufacturers, and rim width also affects overall tire shape and clearance. Due to these variables, we recommend using rear tires no larger than 2.4” to 2.5” to prevent potential contact or rubbing with the frame.
Can I convert the Spider to a full 27.5” or mullet setup?
The new Spider is specifically engineered as a full 29” trail bike and is not compatible with a full 27.5” or mullet (29”/27.5”) wheel configuration.
What is the correct shock size and hardware for the Spider?
The new Spider uses a 210x50mm shock. The required hardware is 8x20mm front and 8x30mm rear.
Can the accessory mount beneath the top tube be used to carry a second water bottle?
Unfortunately, no. This mount is specifically designed for carrying tools and ride essentials. Due to limited space in that area, it does not accommodate a second water bottle.
What is the maximum brake rotor size compatible with the Spider, front and rear?
With the appropriate adapter, the frame can accommodate rear brake rotors up to 200mm or 203mm, depending on the brake manufacturer. While larger rotors may physically fit with the right adapter, their use is not recommended. For the front rotor, always refer to the fork manufacturer’s specifications for maximum rotor size compatibility.
