Giro Artex MIPS MTB Helmet
The Giro Artex MIPS is an all-round helmet. This means it’s suited for mountain biking as well as road biking. The reason for this is that the visor is easy to attach and detach. This bike helmet was built with the so-called In-Mold Construction, which combines a sturdy polycarbonate outer shell with a shock-absorbing foam lining on the inside. The added MIPS system makes the Artex extra safe! Due to Giro’s ultra-adjustable Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS you can fine-tune the fit so that you’ll barely feel you’re wearing it. The pads are antibacterial and provide cooling. The Syntax MIPS helmet has high breathability due to the Wind Tunnel ventilation. Active vents are combined with internal ducts improve ventilation.
MIPS System
The MIPS System consists of a low friction middle layer between the EPS lining and the padding, which is equipped with elastic fittings. This allows the helmet to move slightly (shift and rotate) relative to the head, which absorbs the lateral and rotational forces that occur during a crash. This is in contrast with a non-MIPS helmet, in which shock absorption is achieved through pressing in the EPS lining.
In-Mold Construction
The In-Mold Construction combines a sturdy polycarbonate outer shell with a shock-absorbing foam lining on the inside. Due to the fusing process it’s possible to create an efficient ventilation system, which allows the In-Mold helmets to be lighter and more cooling than traditional helmets.
Roc Loc 5 Air
After more than two years of development, Giro introduces Roc Loc 5 Air. This groundbreaking fit system offers a completely unique user experience with an unprecedented level of comfort, stability, adjustability and weight saving. With Roc Loc 5 Air you can change the fit tension and vertical position with one hand. You only need to rotate the dial for a tighter fit in rough terrain, or twist it back for a looser fit during a steep climb. Even with this unique property, the Roc Loc 5 Air is almost 40% lighter than its predecessor, the Roc Loc 4.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Giro helmets were designed with the help of Giro’s Wind Tunnel ventilation system. This system combines active vents with internal exhausts. This combination provides the cyclist with cool, refreshing air on and around their head, while warm and stale air is disposed of. The innovation of these vents turned out to be a huge success. Cyclists were immensely positive about it, they noticed a new air flow around their head which kept them cool!
Coolfit
This material drains perspiration to the surface. This creates high breathability, which results in a dry and comfortable wearing experience.
