PURPOSE-BUILT FOR THE HIGHEST LEVEL

PRO in the name signals a product developed directly with the world’s top racers—engineered for race-winning performance and representing the pinnacle of innovation. The SES 4.5 PRO is the first product in our road line to receive the designation. 

World Tour road racing requires an exceptional balance of aerodynamics, weight optimization, and compliance with governing bodies. The SES 4.5 PRO’s focus on the needs of professional racers and requires compliance with the governing body’s equipment regulations (UCI). When the road surface conditions are smooth, many riders will opt for 28 mm tyres; in this case, saving weight takes priority. However, this choice remains subject to course conditions. In contrast, more often than not, professional riders pair the current SES 4.5 with 30 mm tyres. ENVE, saw this as an opportunity to create a purpose-built aero and climbing focused wheelset. Ultimately, the end goal is not to produce a jack-of-all-trades wheelset; instead, it is to craft a refined tool for climbing at WorldTour speeds.

PURPOSE-BUILT FOR THE HIGHEST LEVEL

SES 4.5 PRO CONSTRUCTION

New rim design saves 50 grams per rim over the SES 4.5. This is where the weight was saved. 

  1. Reduced rim depth
  2. Rim width is narrower
  3. By removing material from under the Wide Hookless Bead ™ pinch-flat and impact function is preserved
  4. A small hook is created as a result of eliminating material from Wide Hookless Bead ™ (critical tubeless dimensions preserved with new channel manufacturing technique)
  5. Actual inner-rim width is maintained, preserving tire volume and rolling-resistance performance
  6. New materials allow for thinner sidewalls and channel
