Good solution for threaded forks
I've used a couple brands of these stem adapters and all have been satisfactory. They're a good solution that allows a modern stem extension to be used on a bike with a threaded fork and headset. Quill stems, especially for flat-bar bikes, are hard to find these days, but with this adapter, you can use a 1 1/8 stem (plentiful) on a 1" quill.
On the Origin8 model, note that the cap is a slightly larger diameter that traps the stem under it. Thus, it is necessary to thread the bolt all the way out of the expansion wedge in order to attach the stem, which obviously must be done before the quill is inserted into the fork. Not a problem at all, just something to be aware of.
Also, the quill portion is not very tall, the minimum insertion point being about an inch below the stem. If you're looking for a raised handlebar position, you'll achieve that with a steep-angled stem and/or a riser bar. Again, that's a description, not a criticism, as well as a moot point in my case because I prefer a lower handlebar and I'm fine with the stem adapter inserted all the way.
