I purchased these to replace
I purchased these to replace a pair of Shimano ME7 that I found to work well for trail and park riding. The AM903 are very similar in the retention system of laces and buckle. However, the 903 have a Velcro strap. It does provide easy quick retention adjustment instead of a buckle. I worry this will not hold up in time as well as the buckle used on the ME7. The extra padding on the inside of the ankle is great and low profile. I have not used these on 90 deg days yet but seem fine for 80 deg trail rides. I would recommend this for trail to DH riding. They are probably the best off the bike walking shoes I have ever had. The sole does well to grip all but deep mud. Once on the bike riding I did not notice them at all. In my experience that is usually a good performing product.
